Nuala McKeever is a comedy writer and performer who first came to public attention in the BBC NI sitcom Give My Head Peace. She was the first woman in Ireland to have her own TV show – McKeever – which ran on UTV for three years.
In recent years Nuala has written and performed several highly acclaimed one woman plays, including In The Window, which toured to Edinburgh, India and the USA. She has also written and toured five stand-ups shows, she’s an occasional host on BBC Radio Ulster and she delivers workshops on Communication and Creative Writing.
Her latest play, Truth, Love or Promise, recently finished a three week run in Bewley’s in Dublin and returns to the Lyric Belfast at the end of August following two sellout runs there last year.
Nuala has recently realised that difference is not only inevitable, but actually necessary. Trying to accept this is her practice. It’s a work in progress!
