Damian is General Secretary of the Irish Council of Churches (ICC). ICC is the national inter-church ecumenical organisation. It is an all island body that seeks to develop and provide a voice for Ireland’s churches to connect through a common belief in Christ and to express their Christian witness in working together for the benefit of all peoples, both locally and overseas. Damian’s main areas of work include support for local inter-church initiatives, broadening the connections of ICC and facilitating churches’ work on migration and asylum issues, climate justice, housing insecurity and community reconciliation.
He completed his PhD at the Irish School of Ecumenics in Trinity College Dublin, examining the drivers of Irish christians’ attitudes towards undocumented migrants. He also has an M. Phil in International Peace Studies from ISE.
