
Barbara McCarthy is a journalist and researcher. She writes on environmental issues for Irish and global media. As a researcher, she has worked with the Global Climate Forum in Berlin on the Europe-wide Real Deal project, which sets out to create a model of environmental citizenship. Barbara has an MSc in Climate Change, Policy Media and Society from Dublin City University and a BA in languages from Trinity College. She reported on Cop28 for Feasta and organised and facilitated a side event at the Cop29 on Cap and Share.
During the Rethinking Growth conference plenary on housing, Barbara discussed her findings from a focus group which took place in May this year, on behalf of the WEAll Ireland hub project on housing and inequality.
